Beautiful quilt. I agree with Tartan too!

All good suggestions, so far. Here's another idea. SID around stars, treat the large white areas as 4 squares...quilt a 1/2 cross-hatch in each square (alternating directions). The finished look will be concentric squares "on point" within that space. You could embellish further by quilting a design of your choice within the alternate spaces between the lines. For the smaller white squares which exits at the junction of two stars, perhaps a greek key? I can't imagine how difficult free-hand work would be on a domestic machine...straight lines seem to be an easier option with that equipment. Good luck!

Is this wedding gift going to be used as a signature quilt? If I were you, I'd quilt this on my machine by leaving an area inside each box, so a person can sign their name in one area. Just a thought. It is a very lovely top....will be looking forward to seeing the finished project.

I know I've seen this pattern before but I can't seem to remember the name of it, so I'm interested to know its name, too. This scrappy is fabulous & however you decide to quilt it, I know the happy couple will love & treasure for years to come! Great job!!!
:D Of course, that only gives you a gazillion blocks to go thru to find it!! :D |
I do sit down machine quilting, so I scribble and do puzzle pieces all over my quilts, that would look terrific on this scrappy...and by the way...I LOVE IT !!!

Love the quilt and colors. Could you let us know the name of the pattern and if in a magazine or book the name also. Thanks. Wish it was for me but after 50 years (feb 2nd) I don't think I would get married again.
