When I first started this block..
I was going to make a quilt.
Half way through it....
I thought I'd only make a wall hanging...

Now I think it's going to be a lonely block... :(

It's a beautiful block. I'm a novice so points that are pointy impress me mightily!

Maybe it could become a potholder?

Thank you!!
The block is 15" so maybe just a hot pad!! :D :D

I'm not sure where you got the pattern, but I think there is an easier way to do it. Look at the block below - 4 of them put together make up the Hunter's Star. It's on my short list of quilts to make...

I think the block is beautiful! I've been dying to make a hunter star quilt and have been looking at different methods - I finally decided that I will probably paper piece it. What method did you use and what did you not like about it?

The hot pad is a good idea. It's much too nice to hide away somewhere as an orphan.

I took a class and made 1 block. Turned it into a wallhanging.

I've got one in the works like the photo dunster posted. I bought a book that has several methods to choose from, I selected the strip pieced method. I just started cutting the trapezoids today. I does require a bit of concentration to be sure you butt the seams well and line them up all the same direction before cutting on the bias. Once that's done, I think it will go together quickly. :)

I have made one king size and one lap size Hunters Star quilt using diamonds, triangles and trapezoids. This one is very pretty. Nice Job!!

Was it that much of a hassle? I think it came out great, but if it made you want to tear your hair out, I can understand wanting to stop at one.

Maybe you could make some different blocks of the same size and build yourself a sampler....
