I love it.

Your block is beautiful, and a hunter star quilt is worth the work. Give it time, it took me almost a year to make mine, just think of it one block at a time and in no time you'll have enough for a quilt.

ahhhh poor block :( you did such an awesome job. you should make more
|
Thanks everyone...I'd thank you individually but I haven't figuered out how do it yet.
I got the pattern from Fons & Porter Mag. The only thing that was hard was making sure the hst were pointing in the right direction. Because both 4 patches are different. I keep sewing the wrong way!! I'll keep it around & make the hst now & then. Maybe a quilt after all. But it is easy!! Just have to pay attention!! |
I love that block! It should be with other littler hunter's stars .. :(
When I sew something for the first time, it is hard. But after that it gets easier. The trick is to lay out the block and when you pick up the two that are to be sewn, pin it while you are standing there on the side that is to be sewn. Then lay the two sewn blocks down on the others pick up the next and pin and so on. It is easy to get confused if you don't stay focused that way. Ask me how I know this... LOL! My abstract reasoning is very bad. |
Oh, don't just leave it, it's GORGEOUS!!
I have an idea for you. How about you make a thin border (maybe white?) then you make a stripey border with white and blue on the section with the blue, white and red on the section with the red, and so on? Then another border, maybe with solid cornerstones with each of the four colors? Surely that would be big enough for a wallhanging. Did that even make sense? Makes sense in my head anyways. |

Thanks NorBanaquilts, I'll follow your advice. Rome wasn't built in a day......right?? I'd really like to make a quilt. RedGarnett, your too funny!! I guess your seam ripper gets as much use as mine. :D Your right it does get easier. |
Awww...I"m so glad to hear it won't be an only child! You did a nice job on it..those HST's can be pesky sometimes, but I love them. I have a great idea for you....save it for next year's IRR and use it for a center

If my block turned out that BEAUTIFUL I would have to do another, and another and another. AW! You get the point.
The colors are perfect and the piecing looks great. Angie |
