Hi, Initially it was easy. Of course, with needing 192 different pieces each for 2 quilts, it became harder. At the end, we were 9 pieces short and had to really scrounge the cloth stores. Wal-Mart only goes so far and most of their stores have the same material of this type. We did find one store that would cut a fat eighth which was nice.

Those are very cute, you must have some very special neighbors :D

What a great job. Those boys are going to have a grand time snuggling under them and playing with them. You are really good neighbors.

They are both wonderful. The boys will love them, they'll definately keep them occupied with all the vibrant colours. Nice to be able to look at all the fabrics & relate them to different parts of the country too.
Such lucky boys to have neighbours like to you. :D

This gives me an idea for a piece of fabric I saw on the remnant table at the fabric store. I just passed it over but it was something with all the states. I may have to go back and take another look at that fabric, even though I scolded myself for the stuff I bought yesterday. This would make a nice quilt for the new granddaughter I'm expecting. (I've only planned three so far - LOL!) Can't beat the price at $1.99/yd and it would give me 50 squares.

I did one for my grandson (before he was born). The first two quilts had been based on my daughter's likes and I asked my SIL what he would like (he was totally confused), but he is Korean and said Yin Yang, he supposed. So I made a straight yin yang surrounded by "I spy" type of fabrics. I'll try to put in a picture... Oh well, some of us are just too elctronically challenged to exist. sigh.........
