In trying to condense my work area, DH came up with this idea. It may not work for everyone but I love it-and there is chocolate in my room 24/7!

Can't gain weight with that kind of chocolate! LOL!
Is that the ironing part? Looks like a great idea! |
great idea, thanks for sharing with us

Oh that is cool.
I use my dining room table because it's where I quilt. In fact my machine and two quilts have been set up for over 2 months. We now eat in front of the tv and no one is complaining. Wish I had a BIGGER HOUSE. Lord hear my prayers. |
That's nice! Is the ironing surface attached to the table? Is there any heat transfer through the board? I would be afraid that the heat would warp my cutting surface over time or is the cutting board removable? May I copy your idea?

Good Idea !
VIRTUALBERNIE - looks like the ironing board is a separate BOARD which should not get to the cutting surface. Plywood (or whatever she has) looks pretty thick. |

Copy away! Yes, the candy bars are the ironing surface. The cutting mat is not attatched. The cutting area is 1/2" thick and I've had no problems with it. I put down heavy duty foil, cotton batting and cotton fabric. Made sure to attach the ironing surface with four small hinges so the mat wouldn't slide through. I did put contact paper on the table top just so it would look nicer-an idea from sis Dingle. The rest is just painted 2 x 4's. I love it! |
Great ideas and I bet the table is at a comfortable height for you to work! The ironing board fabric is so cute :-)

What a great table and so simple to make.

Very nice! Love the fabric.
