Just needs to be layered now and quilted. Its bee a long time getting to this stage, but I am very happy with it as it was not the easiest and rather time consuming quilt to make. Well worth the effort

feline fanatic 07-28-2010 06:06 AM

Oooooh Aaaaaah it is like fireworks done in asian fabrics! I remember you first layout posts. This turned out great. I love what you did with the border too.

coastienest 07-28-2010 06:07 AM

I just love it. Your combination is fantastic.
Asian fabrics are my favorite. I keep collecting and have tons so once I finish what all the kids want, maybe I can get to make one for myself. But mine will be Asian !!!!
Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful quilt!

Jeanniejo 07-28-2010 06:13 AM

Beautiful !! I took a class and have some of my fans done but have forgotten how I did them ! Shouldn't have let so much time lapse since the class. I have the instructors contact info. Seeing yours makes me want to get it back out of the box !!! It takes more concentration than other quilts I have done and I have a very short attention span and that doesn't help.\Thank you for sharing

I understand completely what you are saying. I left this one for a time, and when I got back to it I had to rethink everything again. So you are not alone on that one.

Ahh you may well ask, still doing the DJ BOM with the group here on the board so that is really got to be finished with the Group, so that is on the go. I have some UFO ..just two.. but may well get that out and do one of them:

Knowing me it will be something that catches my eye that I just have GOT to do :-D

Thank you, all the kind comments keep me going. Have done the tweeks, that is, undone a couple of seams that were not right, so have to get back to the sewing machine to fix them.

And I have to add - it's beautiful Elle, worth all the hard work on it. Keep looking at it, it's quite mesmerising - do you know yet how you will quilt it?

Lynneander 07-28-2010 09:17 AM

Katrine, I hate quilting with the machine, there are areas between each of the large circles and I am thinking what to do, so any ideas will be really welcome. the actual fans points will be QITD though.

Well they are not big areas - personally I would stick to ditching around the arc and the points, so as not to detract from the gorgeous fabrics and lovely pp. I think it would be enough.

Shemjo 07-28-2010 09:50 AM

How very beautiful! What a joy to be this far with it!
Now back to DJ!
