I made this for my grandson that is graduating High School. He has enlisted in the Marines as did his two older brothers.
He will have time to use it because his ship date is not until March. He is enrolling in college to get some credits before going. Jean in MI Doug's quilt |
I should have added that the pattern is Warm Wishes. This is a very fast put-together.

Good for him. With the proper education, he could possibly become a "Mustang". In Marine talk, this is an enlisted member who works his/her self up to Officer ranking.
Please let him know that a lot of real Americans truly do appreciate his work and his willing to fight for America. You must be very proud of him. |
As a mom of a Marine, this quilt is a winner! A beautiful quilt in honor of a special young man!

Love it! My nephew is leaving July 18 for the Marines. He also had time before going to boot camp so has been going to college. He will have his associates by the time he finishes boot camp in October.

Lovely Quilt. Great minds think alike. I am working on one for my granddaughter who will be going to the naval Academy the end of June. This is her plebe quilt (my very first ) and plan on making a new one every year through graduation.

Hi Jeank,
Where did you find the fabric? We live within a couple of hours to Camp LeJuene and the Wounded Warrior Program. Would love to make some lap quilts for that Program and the fabric would be perfect. Thanks in advance for the info. westies |
Beautiful quilt for a wonderful occasion! God bless you and your sons for their dedication!
