Here are the rest...a purple butterfly for my 4yo dgd who is plum crazy for both.
And a photo quilt for the friend who keeps his garden on my farm, and manages to 'till my garden every time he does his own! One of those people who is so hard to buy for but always manages to do such nice things for me. But I think I got him this time! Photos are of his restored antique tractor, and of him in the garden.

The reverse is also pieced. Mostly because I picked too many fabrics for the quilt, and they didn't all work together (better planning next time??). But the variety of veggies and flowers he grows are well represented, so it works out fine.

I used fq for some of the blocks but didn't buy enough so had to make 2 different blocks.

the 2nd block type. I would have preferred a fancier quilting but didn't trust my FMQ skills yet so stuck to a very large stippling pattern, which for the most part turned out okay. Only had to rip a couple small areas and redo them. The red stitching does tie together nicely.

Can the pictures be washed like regular fabric? And if so what did you use to print pictures on?

I forgot to tell you how pretty the purple quilt was and how thoughtful it was of you to make one for John! Very nice.

I used the June Tailor printer sheets, and new printer inks. Followed the package instructions to set the colour and there was no bleeding at all. I did include washing instructions with the quilt (he hasn't opened it yet - not allowed until Christmas).
I found the printer fabric very stiff to work with compared to the other cotton fabrics, even after washing, so I was too afraid to quilt through them and just went around.

Does anyone quilt through the photo itself on these?

Pretty butterflies for GD and your gardening neighbor will probably be speechless. Beautiful quilts.

I have never quilted thru the pics on mine - like you said they are a heavier fabric and was afraid to :? LOL
