I'm not sure who made them--but they are from my maternal grandmother's side. I wish I knew. Maybe I could ask a cousin to ask an aunt... How should I store them?
Does anyone know it the ones that aren's a Yo-yo have a name?

While I don't know any of the names, (aside from the Yo-yo) I do know they are beautiful. How wonderful of your father to give them to you.

Thanks nana--I'll head over there to read it all.

I admit at first I was wondering what I'd do with old quilts I'm scared to use. But my mom died 10 years ago--Dad remarried quickly--then my mom's mom (grandma) died in 2005, so I get the impression Dad wants things in the right hands...something like that. Like he said--they will make great additions to the quilt shows I do at the assisted living homes.

You make me very glad to have them!! :D Now tell me what would you do wth them if they were in your house--as far as display or store?

Display them on a quilt stand or something of that nature out of direct sunlight and try toavoid heating/ac ducts too. If they get dirty, you might try giving them a good shake and airing them outside in the shade on an old sheet if possible. They were meant to be enjoyed and admired and you are so fortunate to have them! They are beautiful!

The last one is a variation on the ‘Stretched Star’. I know I've seen a pattern for it (aside from the basic) on the net in or in one the books, but just can't recall where.

Here is the basic pattern:

Those are gorgeous quilts! I love old quilts like these! What a treasure these are. I think if they were in my house, I would display them for a while or at least one at a time.

How lucky you are! I particularly like the last one, the one you call 'triangle quilt.'

if the quilts were mine, they would live in the spare bedroom, on the bed. I'd rotate the one on top.
