Ok, had to try a table runner.
I figured I wouldn't bind it, just try and do the pillowcase thing to it. It was actually pretty easy, considering I thought it was going to be a pain in the butt, but it wasn't. It's a bit wonky, but not bad for my first one. :) |
It looks great! I'm glad it went together easy. I have that pattern bookmarked too.
|
That is very pretty. It doesn't look wonky at all.
|
Nice! What do you mean "pillowcase thing"?

It works great on quilts too! I did it for the 2 lap quilts I made for wedding gifts. You don't have to put a binding on it after you do that. All I do after I pull it all right side out is smooth it all down evenly, then sew around the outside of it. When I sew it together all sandwiched, I use a 3/8th inch seam, then when it's all right side out, I sew a 1/4 inch around the entire thing. |
Thanks, but it is. It really doesn't lay flat. Had a little "bump" on the back of it that I didn't notice when I pinned it all together. :(
|
Terri,
Oh I love your tablerunner i don't see wonky either. I love the word wonky my sewing daughter and i use it so much now that my non-sewing daughter has taken it to decribe Brylee's hair, (check pic in my avatar) |
LOL Pam
Her hair isn't wonky. It's just that the "water spout" is a bit sideways. ;) |

Thanks.
It just doesn't really lay flat, that's all. But I like it. I think I'll make some for this craft fair I have coming in November. Will probably stick with the reds for Christmas colors. At least I have a couple months to get started. Just need to figure out WHAT to make. Of course, I'll have my totes and i bought a pattern for making diaper bags. Have to order the webbing for the handles. |
two words:
very very pretty :P :P :P sledge hammer ok. 5 words. thanks goodness for toes, or i couldn't count at all. |

I'm going to go thru my scraps and make some scrappy ones. It went together easy and fast! Surprised myself!! :) |
Ok - so to do the "pillow case thing" you would quilt it after sewing the edges?
|

|
Very nice! Should liven up any table.

THanks everyone.
I'm going to try a few more today. Maybe scrappy ones since I have a TON of scraps sitting on the floor. |
Very nice! I love the colors!!!!
Donna |
That looks great. I see you waisted no time at getting back into the quilting.
|
It looks fantastic!!! Hey, do what i do, fabric always stretches when we don't want it to, so i make it stretch when i do want it to lol, just grab the whole thing and give a few pulls and tugs, and then iron it if it isnt polyfil, but it looks great, just beat it into submission!!!!!!! lol lol
|
Looks great Terri and the red is so bright and festive. Just follow the seams for quilting, that works good or every other one. Whatever you do will look fine.
|
It looks great to me. Thanks for sharing.
|
It looks great to me! :D
|
I don't see a problem, it looks real pretty!
|
That is so pretty !! I like it !! A differant way of log cabin or is it folded?
Ellen |
Well if it's wonky on the backside you won't see it anyhow....so pretty girl....love the color choice
|
Terri--Love the red and white and I think you made an awesome first table runner! Can't wait to see more-you are so creative!
|
Terri,
Here's a trick to try: Get the runner wet, and block it. If you have a pinnable mat or a piece of Styrofoam big enough, pit it to that. Some quilters use a couple pieces of 4'x8' insulation boards to do this with competition quilts. Shhhh....it's a secret!!!! Good Luck!! |
Beautiful!! Good job! :)
