My "redecorated" pressing station

I had this small dresser that was a changing table back when my girls were babies (they're 22 and 17 now!) - I'd been using it for storage but now decided to convert it with a "big-board" type top into a pressing station. I covered the top with batting and fabric and decided that the drawer fronts needed sprucing up as well so bought coordinating fabric and am covering the drawers. Only the top three left to go.

No picture, but that does sound like a great idea. Are you getting snow today? We are.

CoventryUK 02-17-2012 12:38 PM

Sounds great!! No pics!!!

No snow by us - sunny and about 40 degrees (my kind of winter!). Can't figure out how to post the picture..... :( I liked the "old" board........you know what they say about old dogs/new tricks............that's me!

Would love to see a picture. Have heard that baby changing tables can be made into pressing and cutting areas for sewing rooms

love the look, I think I'd leave the top three drawers as is... I love the contrast of brown with the browns in the top/board covering.... just MHO....
I have thought about covering a piece, but I feared it would be difficult to keep clean.. did u use anything such as Scotchguard on the fabric drawer fronts????

Brilliant and pretty snazzy too! Now don't we all wish we had thought of that before getting rid of our old changing tables?

I have the same sort of layout. I bought an old dresser at a yard sale for only $5.00 because the top was all scratched up. But since I wanted to cover the top with an ironing board I didn't care about the scratches. Mine is still not decorated and just has a plain white cloth on top, but maybe I'll be inspired by yours.

What a delight! I need to do something like that. I hate regular ironing boards and like "table top" ironing spaces. Yours look great.
