I forgot to tell ya'll...a few weeks ago I went to the Salvation Army in a town about 45 min away...I had just got there and I see a worker rolling out a rack of things to put away and I spy a quilt...so Im following her trying to get a better look and waiting for her to hang it up, as soon as she did, I grabbed it!!! It has a couple spots that need mending (any advice on how to do this would be great) but otherwise is in great shape, and it is labeled, Shoo-Fly Block, 1993, made by P.W., Woodhull, IL, which is town farther north. It not old, but I love it, the colors are more accurate in the one block I show that has the small tear. Its hand quilted and pieced and queen size. And I got it for $15.00!!

What a great find!
You might try a small whip stitch to mend it. Or, if you could find a piece of fabric around the same color, try to fit it in |
What a gem!

Great Stuff! Hope the maker of the quilt doesn't know that it was donated to the Sal. Army.... That quilt is really beautiful.

What a deal for $15. Some of the ladies that retired with me scour the thrift shops in Milwaukee on a regular basis. Everytime we get together for birthdays, everybody wants to know what their latest great finds were.

Good for you!! It looks beautiful on your bed! And for $15?! Wow!!!!!! :D :D

Great find. It would be interesting to know why it was sent to salvation army instead of handed down to someone.

How wonderful that it found it's way to a true quilt lover. It has a good home now. Sort of like a abandoned puppy.
