From Old Jeans to a shopping bag!

I was messing around and came up with this from old jeans using binding for the finish on the top and some fabric for some piping.. Now I have lots of shopping bags.. and they wash up...

Awesome! What a great idea. With three kids, I have an endless supply of jeans.

sewmorethings 05-19-2012 12:28 PM

Clever, wish i wouldn't have donated all the outgrown jeans to goodwill........love your bags

Sandee 05-19-2012 12:36 PM

Excellent! And besides being able to wash them, think how long they will last!!

PokerDiva 05-19-2012 12:47 PM

Those are wonderful. You should do a tute. I would love to make some.

Evelynquilts 05-19-2012 12:49 PM

What a nice idea for "Going to Grandma's and Grandpapa's House" bags...

Grandma Peg 05-19-2012 01:24 PM

Your bags are really cute. should do something with the hamper full of jeans, but can't rush into anything. lol

Floralfab 05-19-2012 01:27 PM

What a great idea. We all seem to have old jeans and what a perfect way to use them.

fxsts93kf 05-19-2012 01:30 PM

Super idea! I say you can never have too many of those! I love that you made them out of blue jeans.

Sewfine 05-19-2012 01:35 PM

Positioning a pocket near the top of the bag is doubly useful. Nice work. REcycling rocks.

Rock Lady 05-20-2012 09:17 AM

Wonderful idea and you did a fantastic job making them.

Mariposa 05-20-2012 09:19 AM

Great idea! Great looking bags that will last and last!

EvelynJ 05-20-2012 12:49 PM

What a wonderful idea. I have some jeans I'll never get back into and some that my daughter has worn but cannot be handed down as they are too faded or torn. I may just have to cut them up!

fred singer 05-20-2012 12:53 PM

very nice job, and I know they are very heavy duty and won't rip.
they make nice gifts also.

debcavan 05-20-2012 05:40 PM

dilyn 05-21-2012 01:38 AM

cpower 05-21-2012 03:19 AM

Great job! They would make great last minute gifts too! I wonder how a little embroidery work would look?

Krystyna 05-21-2012 03:42 AM

Wow, you've been busy! Does the one on the lower left have a scalloped edge? Great bags.

lovedquilts 05-21-2012 04:05 AM

Cindy60545 05-21-2012 04:29 AM

Tink's Mom 05-21-2012 04:36 AM

nice job on upcycle-ing...can't beat jeans for durablity.

jaciqltznok 05-21-2012 04:40 AM

homecaregiver 05-21-2012 04:41 AM
