this will be my "version" of the french braid. i can't decide if i want to put the stripe in or leave it out. i do plan to use the stripe as a border. i like it both ways. what do you think?

I think I like it without but either way it will be wonderful.

thanks everyone! i have decided no stripe. i have been looking at the pictures too :) now to decide if i want it be vertical or horizonal. :):) i will let it tell me once i get it all together. i will post pics when it is finished.

I agree with others - no stripe, but perhaps as part of the border. I've yet to do one of these quilts, but it is definitely on my to do list.

I like it better without. I love to use stripes on the bias as me binding. This would give a little zip to the edge.
