Hi,

I thought this would be fun for us to post pictures of all sewing machine (machines) that we have including embroidery machines. Please be sure to write down the year and model as you never know when someone else may have one also. This should be fun. I will post my pictures in a few days.

Enjoy!

Paula Z in AZ 01-15-2010 01:51 PM

What a great idea Karen,

I have two machines up, but I can get the other two out of hiding; they're nicely tucked away.

I'll post some pictures in a few days too.

craftybear 01-15-2010 02:05 PM

Hi Paula,

Wow, that "1963 Kenmore Rare Pearl Iris color" looks like a work of art! Beautiful!

Lostn51 01-15-2010 06:36 PM

Eddie it is a true pearl paint on the machine. It's a lavender with red pearl over tones and a clear over it.

Back when this paint was made they used fish scales to come up with the pearl effect. So this was a very expensive color to use and there were less than 3500 of these machines made this model and color.

It certainly is beautiful, if I had it I think I would be content to sit and look at it like a fine painting. :D It kind of reminds me of those finned cars from the late 1950s when car makers were taking cars to a true art piece. Sleek and beautiful.

I love lavender so if you ever decide you don't want it, I can give you my address.

It's absolutely to die for, I've never seen one before and doubt I ever will again ... what a beauty!

My machines are just regular ole' machines  but I love each of them - one in particular...

This is my only electric machine I own, and I have a few more machines around here but no photos of them on this computer. I use this machine for fixing buttons and garment repairs, but I am using it to make a King sized quilt for our bedroom.

When I bought it it was in a portable case then I decided to put it in the Universals cabinet since I converted it to a treadle machine. SewJoyce has the case it was in when she bought my Kenmore 1320 a while back.

This was one of my better $25 spent at an estate sale! :D

Billy,

I love the Kenmore pearl iris. Growing up we had a Chevy Impala station wagon that color, they called Evening Orchard. It was beautiful and the talk of the neighborhood. My mom went by herself and bought the car without my dad, it took him some time to get used to it. One thing was for sure you could always find it in a parking lot.

Thanks for sharing.

I guess I wont tell you about the 30 complete treadles (different makes) and several new machines still unopened in their crates, plus a ton of NOS (New Old Stock) parts, manuals, sales catalogs, all dating before WW2 I just bought for $500.

Like I was saying in another thread I just hope it all fits in my 40' enclosed car hauler so I dont have to make 2 trips.

Your 1921 Singer looks like the exact same one I have that was my Grandmothers. I learned to sew on that machine. Mine however is not in very good shape, My Mom stored it in a humid basement for quite a while so the wood is warped in spots and I have no belt for it. I've often thought about getting a new belt and seeing if I can get the thing running again. right now it mostly collects dust!

Yeah, it pretty much always looks this way. I'm one of those "everything has a place" kind of people. But it's just me and DH at home now. When DS was at home, messy was another matter altogether LOL.

Why is no one actually posting photo of their machines.
I am at a the Road 2 California Quilt show. I will send photos today when I get home.

Here we go....my main machine is the Brother QC-1000. The smaller machine is a Brother LB-6770 embroidery machine, which I got free as a rebate when I bought the QC-1000. Love them both!
