postage stamp type quilt.
took this top off the wall today so I could move on to other things. may add borders, but that will have to wait until I add frame extension. Squares finish at 1.5", about 2600 hundred pieces at this point. I want to thank a member here for the star idea ;-)

What a great way to use up scraps - did it make you crazy? It is very colorful
Beautiful quilt, love the idea for the stars.

It really is great!
a little bit towards the end ;-) I really had to push myself not to give up until it got to a decent size.
I love it - never saw a postage stamp quilt with stars. I think that makes it special. Looks like a lot of work!
Beautiful!! Love the stars in it!
Yes love the stars. I am in awe of those many many patches.
Beautiful! How will you quilt it? Please post a picture of the quilting when done. Scrap quilts are the best!
It is really on accomplishment. Can't wait to see it done....
I have no idea. This one will have to percolate for a while ;-)
I wish I could say I thought of it. I was inspired by a member here. I really wish I could remember her name. I've since lost the post.
Very nice, what size are the blocks you made with the postage stamps? Where they 16 patch or bigger than that?
I have been doing 9 patches with my leaders and enders, but thinking maybe I should be doing bigger. The stars really make it special and you have placed them nicely to keep the eye moving. |
It is absolutely gorgeous!!!!! Great Job!

the basic block is a 4-patch. I filled in around the small stars with single patches. I did the quilt in 12 panels trying to mix up the big and small stars.
DebraK, your quilt is beautiful! I want to encourage you not to let it set too long before you finish (like I tend to do) because your quilt is so beautiful it deserves to be finished and displayed and marveled over. GO girl!!:):)
What a bright pretty quilt. I really like how the stars are different sizes and how star points are not all the same color.
