Reversible Quilt Borders

2 Attachment(s)
I have almost finished my reversible QAYG baby quilt. I am trying to decide if I should add borders or just bind it. If I do add borders I thought white with a four patch corner stone using the fabric in my quilt. I am not sure what to do with the wacky nine patch side. I want to be finished (do you ever feel that way) so I just want to bind it, but I don't want it to look bad. This is not being made for anyone, I just like to make baby quilts.

Well, I'm afraid I almost ALWAYS prefer borders. They really seem to enhance the quilt top. I understand your feeling at this point and your quilts are great, but I vote for borders, especially since YOU're doing it and not I!!

As for the just wanting it done, I totally can relate. I agree with ruthrings liking borders versus no borders and since it's just a border away from being finished I think I'd put a border on making it a great finished quilt. I really like what you have done. Can't wait to see them finished. As for the wonky block side, I myself would just do a border in the same fabric you used for frame of each block (it looks like a dark navy print to me) I think that would look great. You can go with a 2.5 inch border so you don't have so much left to do.

I almost always prefer borders of some kind, but it's "your quilt, your way".

i prefer borders. but in the case of baby quilts that will be dragged around, i think it would be fine without. i'd do the binding in the same color as the sashing, though.

I vote for border too. On the side with the wonky 9-patches, I'd just use the fabric that you have in the sashing. If you don't have enough of that fabric for borders, maybe just a dark blue solid.

I always think a border really sets off a quilt!

That is going to be so cute when it is finished! Personally I would do double borders using yellow & blue. Total of 3 to 3.5 inches.
