I started this a few weeks ago.. trying to use up my bits and pieces of scraps.. I managed to use up every last none, and then had to cut into some fat quarters for the last row.. I have no idea for backing fabric, because I have nothing that is large enough, or struck my fancy.. But in time it might jump out at me when I am least expecting it.

very pretty, thanks for sharing, I love scrappy quilts

It's so beautiful!! Scrappies are the best!!! Know you'll bump into the perfect backing fabric! Good job!! :D :D ;)
That is beautiful! I just love scrappy quilts!
oooh, very pretty. You know, if you send it my way, I'm sure I could find a backing fabric for it. Tee hee.
Looks good  What a nice way to "Clean Up"
So pretty! Love scrappy quilts!

I really like the rhythm of the white (or light squares) running diagonally. Nicely done.
hey oksewglad - the light fabric was a cream tone on tone sort of color.. And the inner border was just some long strips I had in a basket from a binding.. it was a little darker with speckles or something.. I am glad this one is done, though.. lots of cutting, and my eyes grew heavy with so many different scraps, lol.
Thank you for sharing, it is so professional and neat.
Blessings, Ruth |
Mrs Pete.. so not professional, lol.. every 5 inch block has at least one crooked seam.. I am not all that good at sewing a seam straight yet, but I love trying.. thats all that counts! Thank you though for encouraging me!!
Very nice an excellant way to use those scraps...gonna add this one to my list...:-)

This was from quiltville.com .. called Fun with Bricks...

Beautiful!!!
Do you have some 12x12 or so pieces you could put together, or fat quarters. Your back could be scrappy too! |
Scrap happy quilt.

I was going to start on her Scrappy Houses, but now that I've seen your quilt, I might change my mind. Wonderful quilt!!! |
OKsewglad.. the squares ended up being 5 inches when evened out.. each little section was cut at 2 1/2 I think... the free pattern was at www.quiltville.com ..called fun with bricks if you want the pattern.
Jims Gem, thought about doing that as well, but thought it might be too busy if I did a back of many colors, lol.. just not sure.. but might be doing it that way, since it is larger than I planned on. so we will see..
Awesome quilt! I love scrappy quilts too! It's VERY Pretty.
Beautiful quilt. I love the light diagonals.
I like the addition of the white. It breaks up the pattern a little bit, and you notice the colors more. I am making a mental note of this!
Very nice! I'm another scrappy lover; yours is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I love it!

It looks great from here - Have you thought of taking larger pieces of fabric - even FQ and sew them together and make a scrappy back. Use what you have! |

Karen, You are no longer a "quilter in the making." You have arrived! I love this quilt top. Those diagonal rows of white really make this quilt look fabulous.

scrappy quilt, make a scrappy back. I like to use leftover bindings on my scrappy quilts; keeps to the scrappy theme.
