Hi I thought I would post some of my more recent quilts (my older ones did not get photographed with a digital camera)
This one is a comfort quilt I made for my SIL while she was having chemo and radiation for breast cancer. It was a class I took at a the Quilted Garden shop, taught by Catherine Hanna. This is my favorite quilt, the pattern is from the Freckles Collection. It says "Seasons come and go but families are forever". This one is called Cynde finally gets her Calla Lilies. It is from a kit that I bought in Puyallup, which I have lent to my mom and can't get the name right now. |
These are amazing! You do excellent work.

Oh wow, those are all beautiful cynde. I especially love the lily!! How did you do the one with the houses? Is that machine embroidered? What? It's so unique!! My dd got a teddy bear quilt similar to the one you're showing when she had her third child. SO cute. :)

Here are a few more, and while I am posting I should add that my avatar is a quilt I made in the Quadrille Twister class taught by Dianne Stevenson, and it is based on the Martha Thompson's class and book.
The mantle scarf was a class I took a couple of years ago by Dianne Senra, she said her pattern was inspired by one from Quilt Lover's Favorites. The class taught the pinwheel design that are in my two mantle scarves, but the one I made for my mom I just did a log cabin block that came out to the correct size. These are some Christmas stockings I made when I first started quilting. The mantel scarf was a class I took at a shop called A Great Notion. I have made three of these, two for me and one for my mom. This is one of four wall hangings in a series called Seasons Medley, by Vanilla House. I have only done the spring and summer so far. This is an advent calendar I made one of my first years quilting. It was a class put on by my quilting guild. |
Lin you are so fast, you posted while I was posting some more pictures. The house one I hand embroidered. I wanted a small portable project to take to the dentist I spent a lot of time waiting for my dd who had braces, soccer practices etc....
It took me two years to complete and the embroidery was by far the most time consuming part of it. |
I love all of your work. Keep them coming! :D

one or two more here
This is my other Christmas mantle scarf. This is a log cabin christmas wall hanging that I made in a class at the Quilted Garden put on by Catherine Hannah, based on the Christmas by Candlelight pattern from American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. This is the mantle scarf I made for my mom this past Christmas. I put it up on her mantle when we arrived at their house on Christmas eve and it was so hectic she didn't notice it until Christmas morning, which was perfect. |
Wow! wow! Wow!.....you got it goin' on there girl. Don't stop....wonderful peices and lovely color choices. :D

Hi Heather, my goodness you are just as fast as Lin.
Here is one I put in my intro, but I just have to add it here, it is my most recent completed project. Just before she passed away, my great grandmother embroidered the task a day onto flour sack cloth, to make T towels for my grandmother. I inherited the T towels, and cut them down into pictures for my children's nursery. After I took up quilting I decided they had to go into a quilt. I purchased all the '30s replica fabric I could find and designed this quilt. I had my dad draw some bunnies and flowers to match the original blocks and my mother and I embroidered these for the corner blocks. I have two tops ready to be sandwiched right now, but I've lost my camera, so I will have to borrow one, when they are done. |

Hi Cynde, Your quilts are all beautiful, I can't decide which I like best, Fabulous use of colour. I love being able to see other peoples work so keep them coming :)
|
You are a wonderful quilter. Creative, versatile & precise. Thanks for sharing!
|
Simply beautiful!
|
Oh heavens, it's too early for such eye candy cynde!! Your work is so inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing all these wonderful works. I just love all the Christmas quilts you've shown. I've been meaning to make a mantel cloth for some time, and now I'm truly inspired to do so. Lordy girl, you could have a show of your own.
|
Your work is so gorgeous. I particularly like the calla lilies, the mantel scarves, and the Christmas log cabin.
|
Wow thank you all for the compliments, you've got me blushing here.
As I've said my earlier work is not on digital, so you haven't had to look at my early struggles with colour and wavy binding lol. Again thanks for all the kind words, I'll add the next two projects when I find my camera, or break down and buy a new one. |
CYNDE~!!!!
WOW! Those are absolutely amazing! ! ! ! ! ! ALL of them are my favorites!!! Also, I love the little poem in your signature...about cleaning house with children....HOW TRUE! I have 2. |
Don't ask me why, but I feel so energized when looking at other people's work! It is inspiring I think and this was wonderful. the only thing that would have made it better would be to get a chance to work on my numerous UFO's after seeing your wonderful projects. Unfortunately, I am at work and will probably be so tired I can't even think about sewing once my day is over. Thanks for sharing all these wonderful projects. I always liking looking at other people's work :!:
|
Vicki, I'm with you. I'm also at work and eating my lunch. I haven't touched my sewing maching in ages. But seeing everyone's work gives me encouragement and keeps the possibilities alive. However I did complete an afghan last night while watching pre-season football. So all is not lost. Ellen

It's a shame you don't have more time to devote to your quilts vicki. :( |
I agree with everyone your work is just stunning. I really like the mantal cloth. Do you have a pattern for this or do you know where I can get the pattern? I now have a mantal and now that I've started quilting I would love to make one of these. Keep up the great work and thanks so much for sharing.

Barb, I have been looking for the pattern for the mantle scarf, but I cannot find it right now. If I come across it I will let you know tho. It was really easy and fun.

I hope this is big enough for you. I made it for my son who cannot have a quilt on his bed because of his severe dust mite allergy. He is actually not supposed to even have this on his wall, but it is the lesser of two evils.
This is a Quadrille Twister, a class taught by Dianne Stevenson. |
I love it all, beyond words.....you have created beauty :D
|
AWESOME wall quilt. I love the pattern & the colors!

Here are a couple of other pictures that I hap posted in my introduction.
I also just found my camera, so I will be able to take pictures of the projects that I am working on right now. Should I start a new thread for those, or is it better to just add them here? Cynde finally gets here calla lilies My blue jay log cabin |
Thank you yes it is just big enough, what a beautiful quilt. hope your sons allergies clear up with age. My whole family has them, but they seem to change as we age.
|
When I look at your quilts, I realize that I am a rank amateur. Your classes really paid off because your quilts are gorgeous!
Add them here and create a beautiful portfolio. |
What a lovely collection of quilts!!! Thanks for sharing.

I finally found my camera and got it working. So here are some more
Some kind of downloading error, the second quilt is my dd's trip around the world bed quilt, not a baby quilt Sophia's Baby Quilt, an Irish Chain for a St. Patrick's Day baby. I promised the parents I would make a baby quilt in the summer when I was not taking any card tech courses. My magic tiles wip, from a class I took through the Fraser Valley Quilting Guild Our bed quilt which was supposed to be a wedding gift for DH sister. Wedding fell through, we got the quilt. It's a trip around the world from a class taught by Jane Norquay. |

I'll try and get Sophia's baby quilt here
This is an Irish Chain for a St. Patrick's day baby. I got the pattern from a book that I will now burn, and if I ever meet whoever created the pattern I will have to slap them. It was horrific to make, with almost non-existent directions. |

This is a quilt I made for my Grandmother last year. My mom found the blocks in her belongings when she was moving her to an assisted living complex. My grandmother had made them using liquid embroidery in the 70's I think.
Mom gave me a swatch from Grandma's new sofa and I found some fabrics in my stash that worked. Four Generations quilt. |

The blue quilt is a Father's day gift I made for my DH a few years ago. It was a class that I took, I can't find the name of the teacher or the pattern, I think it's called a Sawtooth, does anyone recognize it?
I traced the kids hand prints and quilted around them for the border, which of course you can't see in the photo. The table runner is a something I made to replace my very first quilting project, which had horrific colors. If I ever find the first one I will take a picture and post it here, it will be good for a laugh. |
Very beautiful. My favorite is the Calla Lilies. Absolutely stunning!
|
These are gorgeous. I especially love one intended for a wedding gift. It is absolutly amazing...they all are...
