I'm back quilting again. I took a few weeks break so I don't get burned out.

I have a delima. I need to make this 10 inches longer. It is 60 X 60 right now.

Do you think it would look ok to put a thin border of the rose on at the top and bottom and then a wider row of the flowered on?

Any suggestions?

Yes that could work. Or... you could add a pieced row at the top and bottom then add a solid border. So far it looks very nice.

Just me, but I think it is hard to make a square quilt into a rectangular quilt without it looking odd.

Why not just add 10 inches both ways and have a 70 inch square quilt?

But if you must, maybe put a row at the top and bottom, then add an equal amount all the way around..

Not sure how it will turn out, but it will be balanced

Nice job, by the way.....congrats on a beautiful quilt

Thanks. I don't think I can handle a 70 X 70 quilting it on my sewing machine, it might be too big for me to handle. It was a kit so I'll have to get more fabric for it.

Does this look ok, or should I connect the gold fabric circled?

That is exactly what I had been thinking, but didnt know how to describe it to you..

I think this looks good.

Very creative solution...

keep it...

That's what I'm thinking. It already has solid borders, so adding more without blocks to break it up is overkill.

Very nice way to make it work. I think it's gorgeous btw. And for a laugh, I thought the pink was a border, then realized it was the carpet color...hehe sorry about that...

But it's a good solution, I say keep it.

It is a beautiful quilt - with and without the added bit. I am like you - I just do not care all that much for square quilts........ to get them long enough for beds today - they become problematic.

I think you solved your problem well!! Carry ON!!!
