I was told that this quilt was made by her MIL's grandmother. She's in her 40's. I'm guessing that some of these materials could be 40-60 years old. I had a time getting it to lay flat to quilt it. I had to square it up before and after quilting. There are a lot of stains. I don't bind for anyone but myself, only when I have to due to severe arthritis. She wanted me to bind the quilt also so all I could do was machine sew the binding on. It didn't turn out so bad because she wanted flannel batting and that made it thin enough to not have any trouble stitching in the ditch and catching the back. This is the second time I've used flannel batting and I rather like the way it feels after quilting. I did a freehand feather meander from edge to edge. The poor quilt was falling apart but I think it turned out rather well, considering the condition. I'd better tell her not to try and wash it, huh? She's giving it back to her ex-MIL for as a gift.
My DH says it looks a lot like the quilts his grandmother used to make.

I have a star quilt from MIL's grandmother. The colors in yours are very similar to the colors in mine. Nice job putting it together and thanks for the tip with the flannel. I may do the same.
