Top done, but odd size?

I've just completed this top.

As it stands, it is 70 inch square.

I call this the odd size as it is too big to be a lap, but too small to be a bed quilt.
I don't think this goes well with my decor, so that rules out wall quilt.

So I need advice - should I leave it as 70 inch square, or add borders to enlarge it? I am hesitant about adding if it doesn't gel with the original feel/design. Most importantly, I don't have anymore of the fabric!

What do you think? Thanks:)

It is lovely. If anything I would do a black border. When my quilts are odd sizes, I like to toss on a bed or over the back of a chair, etc.

I agree with both comments Those are nit my colors, but it is striking and a fine quilt. If it does not work in your home, I'd bet it would do well in a charity auction.

These are mostly Kaffe Fasset's range from a few years back. I was in love with his super saturated colors.

I love it. I have smaller sized quilts that just cover the top of the bed over a plain white duvet, just to add colour.

Ohh so pretty!! I can give you my address if it needs a home :) I would do what doodledo suggested and put a black border around it and use it any way you can. It would make a wonderful happy dreary day reading quilt.

I think it's beautiful as is, but a black border would look nice too.
Another idea would be to add small splashes of color throughout the black border.
If you had some scraps of the bright colors, you could add small squares of it to the border.

It is beautiful! If you don't have anymore of the fabric, I think I would remove a row of four and add three squares to the bottom. That will leave one square for a pillow and I would add a narrow black border and binding. Is it just my screen but the right bottom corner square looks a little different colour? I would put that one in a pillow.

can you get any solids in the colors of the top? if so, do a black border, then a border of the solids cut in sections about the size of your 'frame' around the square and separate those by black sashing in the size of the current black 'sashing' and then another black border.

it's a beautiful top.

I agree...great looking quilt, a nice solid border would be perfect.
