I love the one with the butterfly. I had a tear in the fabric when I first started quilting (I didn't sew close enough to the 1/4) and it pulled when I started quilting. So I took a small bumble bee applique that you'd put on a childs dress and covered the hole. Used black yarn to make swirls like a bee in motion and no one was the wiser. Except for you now. And the hundreds of people who will read this. LOL Beautiful job. I bet your Grandmothers so very proud.

Good work. Using the butterfly is not cheating. It is intelligent design.

Your work is wonderful! You will get better with each project and with each project you'll be surprized at how much you learn. I've been quilting about 6 years and I'm not what I consider a good quilter yet but I keep striving for greatness. It may not happen but in the journey I'm making some nice gifts! I also want to comment on your desire to continue the quilting tradition in your family. We live in such a fast moving, electronic world it's wonderful to hear that someone WANTS to preserve the "old" ways. Keep up your great work. *** Amen to this post. You are the very first man I have ever heard liking purple ... its my fav too |
