I finished the quilt for my new grandbaby who is due in two weeks! I am so excited because in 11 days I will fly out to Mass. to be with my daughter and help her after the baby comes. It is a little girl who will be named Lily. My daughter and her husband planned the baby coming so it would coincide with my summer vacation! I get out of school in 10 days! Yippeee!

love your quilt!
I like your board name too.
My grandbaby used to call me Nonnie, bc she couldn't say Nana, and I was just a little sad when she finally changed over.
I thought it was very cute. :-D

stitchinwitch 05-23-2010 07:50 PM

Actually, there are two Quilting Nonnie's on the board. The other one is quiltingnonie. I'm Nonnie to my grandchildren. Nonie's is from her little brother who couldn't pronounce her name when they were small.

Congratulations on having a little granddaughter. The quilt is beautiful. That's great that the arrival date and you finishing up with school are so close and that you can be there for your daughter.

mpeters1200 05-24-2010 08:33 PM

I was a complete silly person and posted my first finished quilt for 2010 in it's own thread. It really should have been here. You can find the story for it by following this link. I'll still post pics here.

I figured out a very important fact in this quilt. If you are cutting small pieces, do not cut it from a medium size print, then get upset when you cut off everything you want to keep. Here is a pic of what the yellow fabric started like. Only in one spot on the quilt was the cub scout logo intact.

Quilt top, all pics taken after basting.

Here's a close up of the backing material. It's so pretty, and very "scouty".

Now, if I could just get someone from the campout to email me a picture of the completed quilt with Nate once he received it. 25 families, you would think SOMEONE would have taken a picture of the blasted quilt!!

Yarn or Fabric 05-25-2010 03:23 AM
