I finished the quilt for my new grandbaby who is due in two weeks! I am so excited because in 11 days I will fly out to Mass. to be with my daughter and help her after the baby comes. It is a little girl who will be named Lily. My daughter and her husband planned the baby coming so it would coincide with my summer vacation! I get out of school in 10 days! Yippeee!

Yeah!! What a cute quilt. I need to post pics of my signature quilt. I was done with it and presented it last weekend...was hoping for some presentation pics but no one thought to take a pic of us holding it up!?!?!? So, in progress pics it will have to be!

I like your board name too. My grandbaby used to call me Nonnie, bc she couldn't say Nana, and I was just a little sad when she finally changed over. I thought it was very cute. :-D |
That is so sweet! Nonnie - did you change your avatar?? That quilt is wonderful!
|

Congratulations on having a little granddaughter. The quilt is beautiful. That's great that the arrival date and you finishing up with school are so close and that you can be there for your daughter.

I was a complete silly person and posted my first finished quilt for 2010 in it's own thread. It really should have been here. You can find the story for it by following this link. I'll still post pics here.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-45578-1.htm I figured out a very important fact in this quilt. If you are cutting small pieces, do not cut it from a medium size print, then get upset when you cut off everything you want to keep. Here is a pic of what the yellow fabric started like. Only in one spot on the quilt was the cub scout logo intact. Quilt top, all pics taken after basting. Here's a close up of the backing material. It's so pretty, and very "scouty". Now, if I could just get someone from the campout to email me a picture of the completed quilt with Nate once he received it. 25 families, you would think SOMEONE would have taken a picture of the blasted quilt!! |
Awwww!!! That is just too cute!!
Congratulations grandma!! |
Its really cute!
|
so glad i saw this new quilt of yours i am planning to make a quilt for my 1st great grand baby- also a little girl named Skyler she is due to arrive in July. enough time for me to pick out a real cute quilt for her. I have the fabric -in tones of sage green and lilac and the theme is teddy bears. can i just copy your cute pattern it is what i've been looking for are you just about as happy as i am for the upcoming event. just cuddle and love on the baby and enjoy every minute. they grow up so fast.

This little quilt just made me happy. Is there a pattern
for it? I would love to make one for a new baby coming in October. |
I love this quilt. And I got to go spend a week with my daughter and her newborn in March, so I know how much fun you're going to have. These little ones are so special!
