My Boy Scout Wallhanging and copyright info

Over the years that I have quilted, I have tried to give credit where it is due. I've read and reread facts and opinions about copyrighting. In fact, everything I have read about copyright information I've gotten from this site and most of Patrice's posts. So, here is the "disclaimer" if you will on this project.
I saw a picture of a signature block at quilter's cache. I did not follow the pattern for it because it was too complicated. I changed the measurements and the technique to create the blocks. I spent 3 weeks with my calculator and graph paper trying to figure out the math to create the blocks I wanted as well as the layouts. So, as much as I've "seen" this block and the original picture for the block itself is not from my own head, the method, piecing, layout, and MATH definitely are. I am no pattern writer and never want to be. I lack the drive and ambition to actually do it. I like following directions just too much and therefore prefer other people to do the hard work for me. And I like saying, got the pattern from here or there because it gives credit where it's due to the people who come up with the really hard stuff...I just follow the directions.
OK...here we go with the pics. Because the layout is out of my own head and not following directions, there is a MAJOR design flaw. Didn't realize it until I was basting the quilt and I'm not fixing it. A quilting buddy said she didn't notice til I pointed it out and she says it looks like it's part of the design. So, I'm not telling you what should be different, I really like it FLAWED, gives it character.
I had already showed you the kona solids and boy scout fabric I had gotten for it. Here are the solid squares I used for the signatures, my son's is whose you see. Then I used squares of 2 of the boy scout fabrics to make QST to slap on the corners of the squares.

I really needed to spend more time thinking about how to apply the triangles to the opposing corners of the square. This was a big learning experience for me. Still don't know how to do it correctly, but I made it work. Some were wonky, but you can't tell in the finished product.

I'm a big silly head and forgot to take a picture of one of the blocks by itself. I remembered when I added the sashing.....oopsies.

Here's a some pictures of the backing fabric both quilted and not quilted. I wanted to highlight the quilting and you can't really tell on the top. Also, the backing is really classy. I really like it. I included a picture of the quilting on the top around the sashing because it's the only place you can see it.
