This post is for everyone who is doing a chicken project... runners, cushions or quilts... to post their photos.

I am hoping Marcia and Melissa will post their completed quilt photos here as well!

That way you folks on the board can get inspiration, a chuckle or a smile from the people who were bitten by the "Chicken Quilt Bug"!!

tlrnhi 04-08-2009 07:07 AM

That's just adorable!
Hey, send it to me and I can say I made it! lol

And every time I look at your quilt I think, "Oh I wish I had found that pattern" or "I should have done that..."

I think we have a mutual admiration society goin' on!

I LOVE story quilts!
Can't you just imagine grammy and child, snuggled under the quilt, while the kid tells her story after story about why that rooster with the long legs really will play basketball someday?
I keep gathering chicken fabric for some reason, and maybe your inspiration is why.
Good job!

joannl 04-08-2009 03:33 PM

Plus, I've got some of the border fabric you used! Melissa, the rooster with the sun behind him - love it! Reminds me of kellogs cornflakes! :D

In France they have an expression that translates as ' if parsley grows well in your garden then it's the lady who wears the trousers'

BTW, my parsley's doing just fine! :D

I don't know where i was this morning (on here, of course), but somebody mentioned a chicken 'challenge'.
I said I wasn't going to commit to a challenge...too much pressure...but I do owe a friend a lap quilt, and she loves her chickens and ducks.
Does anybody know of any whimsical duck links?
:D :D :D

sandpat 04-09-2009 03:59 PM

Melissa, your chickies are adorable! I might just swipe your idea too! I have no shame when it comes to idea swiping...sorry!!

Loretta--they all start out as a sofa size quilt, but then you keep finding more and more cute chicken fabric and then more and more cute chicken patterns....and then your quilt just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

My chicken quilt has chicken buttons on it too---hint, hint

Janstar 04-09-2009 10:08 PM

All your chicken quilts and runners are terriffic. Would love to do one someday!

Pam Pollock 04-09-2009 11:08 PM
