The border was made first; I loved making these geese! (The houses and hearts are another story though). Then I started filling it in with wonky houses. Made lots of mistakes, redid things over but it was liberating and I learned alot! I love my clothesline most of all and the quilts are the smallest I've made so far! lol. The clothesline is a hard coated black plastic twist tie that worked well and was twisted just right and added dimension. I also love my lollipop tree! The scrappy pinwheels were fun to do! Just simply twist 2 scraps together, coil, and glue or tack in place. I guess I was thinking of Candyland when I made those. In the bottom right-hand corner, I placed my wonky heart. They were somewhat challenging without anything to go by but I loved the way it turned out, nice and wonky! Here are some links for your convenience if you want to try any of these wonky items.
For making the wonky flying geese, here's a good tut (but I did my own thing): http://www.with-heart-and-hands.com/...-tutorial.html For making the wonky houses, I did my own thing, but wish I would have followed someone's tut as it would have been much easier. Just found this one today. Here's the link: http://lazygalquilting.blogspot.com/...nky-house.html For making wonky hearts, I did my own thing, but here is a good source: http://lazygalquilting.blogspot.com/...ky-hearts.html If you missed my wonky braid (my own idea), here's a link to that mini: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-35968-1.htm If you missed my wonky pineapple block (my own idea), here's a link to that scrappy lappy: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-73505-1.htm If you missed my wonky stars, here it is: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-143428-1.htm If you missed my wonky snowballs (my own idea), here's that link: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-147577-1.htm If you missed my 'Favorite House Blocks,' here's the link: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-42243-1.htm Here's 'My Favorite House Blocks, Part 2': http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-50725-1.htm I'll be doing wonky crosses soon in my own style, but here's a link to one type of wonky crosses: http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2010/04/...ock-sew-along/ Thank you for looking!
