Someone is going to have a talk with who ever it is that picked the blocks that I am working on. Oh yeah, it was me.
I finished the first set a day or two ago and started on the next today. I just finished steaming my fingers while pressing the little things. You would think that I would learn to pick bigger squares or ones that had less pieces to them or both. They are a 7" square, I was in a strange mood when I was picking fabric so who knows what it will all look like when I am done. There is a quarter in the pictures to show how small we are talking about. itty bitties I just finished pressing. Lol dd#3 said to tell you, Dear god woman you're insane!
That's what she said, now I like that block it is cute and I know I would have more problems and more cussing trying to do blocks that lil so I'll just avoid the headache and admire your work.. Get an aloe plant and sit it next to your iron you may need it again ;) |
That is small, but so cute. Watch that steam though!
|
I love those fabrics and the pattern!!! I know what you were thinking, when I finish this I am going to send it to amma :D :D :D Those are such tiny pieces....you are a very patient person

Can't wait to see how it turns out. The pieces sure are tiny!
|
That is going to be great when it is done.

Yes...yes you have indeed lost your bloomin mind...but in such a BEAUTIFUL creative way it makes it all ok :D Awesome block!!! Insanity really is a fun state to live in, isn't it?
|
What tiny little pieces of fabric. They are coming together beautiful. I like your fabric choices. Great job.
|
Sure looks like a labor of love to me!
|
Can't wait to see the results.
|
The next seam is now sewn and pressed. A little easier on the fingers as they are now almost twice the size. I will post updated pictures later, I want a few more pieces of it together first. I am hoping to get them on later tonight, but who knows. We will see how it goes in the next bit.
|
Pretty colors and tiny pieces. I'm looking forward to seeing the top when it's done. What size will this quilt be?

so those little pieces turned into these. That is as far as I am going to make it tonight, it is getting late and I am getting tired, not bad since I haven't done this in more than 6 weeks.
The quilt is going to have 120 squares when it is done, 7" squares, I am not sure of borders or anything else yet. I usually decide that when I see the rest put together. I will be adding more pictures as I go along. pile of parts single example |
It looks great must be nice to be back sewing again. Also i like the theme of the fabrics rulers, scissors very nice :)
|
tiny, tiny...I love miniatures! so go talk to yourself, and say looking good!
|
I am just amazed at how precise you are able to get those blocks. They are so tiny!
I hope you don't find me bold to tell you this but, I was told a long time ago not to use steam while pressing quilt blocks, the bias likes to act up and grow. I am only telling ou this so you can save your little fingers next time. Mary ellen's best press is a joy to use too. |

I don't find you bold to pass on information that you believe is something to think about, I am not sure why I like stream. I just do, I don't have a lot of problem with the bias. I will maybe try the next set of blocks without stream and see what happens.
Anyone can be as bold as they like with me, even if they don't like it, please feel free to tell me, this quilt is not done for the normal reasons. When it is done I am thinking of telling a story about it. so if you want to question my color choice or style or block selection, go ahead, it would be nice to hear some if it as well. I find the more accurate that I am to start, it is easy to carry it on through the project, I have good days and bad days of course, must have been a good day when I did more of that block. Here is the next block and now most of you will get where it is going, and can possibly pick out the other blocks that I am going to be doing. block 2 |
I absolutely love it!!!! Can't say enough about the awesome piecing and beautiful bright colors :D :D :D

I missed the in between picture on this one. It went faster than the last one. After 6 weeks of not doing it I guess it took me a bit to warm up. Though I still get sidetracked quiet easily, and take a few more breaks than usual. 2 more blocks now and I will be ready to figure out how it will go together.
|
A miniature quilt, way to go. I saw a lady on Simply that does miniature quilts. Guess what, it takes just as long to do the miniature quilts as it does the larger one.....................so she said. Happy quilting. It's adorable.
|
Your blocks are turning out great!! :D
I will be anxiously waiting to see more. Keep up the nice work!! :D :D :D :D :D |

here we go again, with another 120 little itty bittys. I just got them pressed, it was a busy day yesterday. so didn't get much done, jsut had them sewn together. it usually goes faster after that. Though someone might want to do a piece count when I am done, I did and nearly fell off of my chair.
|
Nice I'm liking the way this is looking can't wait to see more of it :)
Still think you're nuts using that size blocks, but guess the world does need a few nuts as it makes life and quilts more interesting ;) |
I found this same pattern on Quilterscache - only in a 14" block called Country Roads!!

dvseals, I always figured I was a little cracked, it is good to know that I have confirmation on it. I am close to getting ready to take more pictures, there is a few more pieces to this one if you want to believe it. I am going to leave the counting to someone else. |

So here it is. The next little bit to the current square. If I keep working it should be done before supper tonight. of course it is just after two now so that leaves me lots of time to finish the 15 squares.
|
Might be time to buy one of those small irons to help protect your tips. It looks real good though. DH declared a "holy cow, that's small" lol.

I will have to look into buying one since I seem to have a thing for this kind of block. So note to self, buy a clover mini iron.
So I am moving right along and have a chance at still getting it done before supper. The kids came home etc and took up some time, they are all occupied now. and there is only a little left in the block to do. |
Looking Good!! I just love all of the bright fabrics that you are using :D :D :D
|
cutebuns, it was the 7 inch block that has the squares with the triangles.
|
cutebuns, this is the pic I was referring to. country Roads is the 14" block
