Give me your honest oponion , Please.
Do these 10 minute blocks look ok or should I stop and start something else? Should I put sashing between the blocks or just sew them together. I am using batiks. Thanks in advance for comments. |
I'm no expert, but I'm liking what I'm seeing!
I would add a sashing similar in color to the center squares. It's going to be a beautiful quilt.
Looking good to me.
These are beautiful blocks. I think sashing would really make them pop.

I love those colors. It's going to be beautiful! |
Sashing would give it a whole new pattern. It's only a matter of what you like best. Either way is super nice. If you want a bigger quilt then add sashing.
don't stop - it's looking great. I would add sashing too
Yea, what they both said. Very pretty, but I am partial to batiks.

I just got my order of batik fat quarters from Connecting Threads. Oh my, how beautiful they are. This will be a great project for me to use them.
I think a narrow black sashing would be very pretty.
me, I wouldn't do sashing. I would also try to arange the blocks so that the squares are near like colors to make a larger square of similar color. just my two cents.
very nice, I would use sashing in a light color
Sashing or no sashing ...LOVE it !! keep going. Personally I would not do a sashing.
Those are beautiful blocks. I think I would do the sashing - to make each block a unique part of your quilt.
I like it. I would do without the sashing, and maybe a wider (6 inch) outside black border. If you really want sashing, black would be my choice. Nice!!
I think sashing would tie it together and it would be really a good look.
I would audition it with and w/out sashing and see which I prefer.
they are beautiful !! i think I like the suggestion of arranging the blocks so like colors make a center of 4 blocks. Make a bunch more, lay them out on the floor and then look at them thru the wrong end of binoculars. You will see the whole as if it was at a distance. Much easier to judge how the overall effect is
Keep up what you are doing -- they are great |
I'm with maryb-sashing to match centers and it'll be beautiful
I would try looking at it with sashing (black) before going further. I think you have a beautiful quilt there regardless of what you do. I think the black sashing would make it very dramatic and I'm all for the drama.
They're beautiful and I'm not a batik person! I would definately put something between them. Personally...I'd prefer something dark (black) but that's just me.
To sash or not to sash that is the question. My opinion on this pattern....if you want just the colors to stand out, sash it. But if you want the pattern created from the four corners coming together making a circle. Leave it just as it is. Put your blocks closer together to see the pattern, then you can decide. I love batik', just ordered more today, hope they come in on a day DH works. LOL

I'd have to play with the colors and the layout a bit more. Its really just a question of your own preference. I think a black sashing would make those beautiful batiks really pop...but you will loose the secondary pattern. I'd have to play with that pattern before I abandoned it for sashing. Do you have some fabric that you can play with on your design wall?

Oops, hit the button too many times, Double posted, sorry. |
Sashing or not it is going to be beautiful. Love it. BTW I like it without sashing.
Nice!
Whatever you decide on, it is going to be very pretty. I think if it were mine, I would do a sashing. Not sure which color, black or light. Just play and decide which you like.
Those are just beautiful. You are definitely going the right way. I would put sashing on the blocks. Great job.
How about putting them on point and use a narrow black sashing?
I think they look great!
I wouldn't try to color arrange them. Yes to sashing, and if you're into color, I'd like to see a purple. Black would be my second choice.
I agree with many about black sashing. Very pretty! Hope you keep us updated :D
I like it - nice warm colors.

I love your blocks very much........ The first think I thought was stained glass....... I would try making them look like stained glass windows.
What are you talking about? quitting? No way, your doing a great job. LOVE the blocks and if you love bright colors you could try a black and white polka sashing , it sounds scary but you might be surprised if not then others will have ideas for you, keep up the good work!
