Quilt Blocks and a Hotpad done!
#1
Here are the 6 quilt blocks that I have been working on. They are part of an order that I have been working my way through. If you saw the large tote bags I posted awhile back and the bear's paw coin purses - this is part of that same order. These quilt blocks are 6 1/2" unfinished and are going to go to the customer and she will use them to make her own quilt I presume.
If you didn't see the posts I mentioned just go on search above and type in my name and you will see a list of my posts. You can find the posts there.
The black hot pad is a star point block. The Hot pad is 8" x 8" finished. Hope fully I will have the last of her order done soon. I have one more HST hot pad to do and a bear's paw book mark and I will be done!!! with this order!! Yeah!!

they are very nice. With experience I hope to get my blocks peiced as perfectly as yours are :!: I like how the pattern on the hotpad seems to echo. What did you use for wadding in the hotpad, do you need a heatproof wadding?

I saw a thread earlier today where someone bought some redwork blocks on ebay or etsy something like that. So I know they are offered by some quilters for sale in lots.
It just makes it easier for a quilter to make a quilt with blocks that may be more involved than she wants to do or is not experienced enough to do.

My piecing is not as perfect as you might suppose. I can point out many places that are less than perfect! I have just learned ways to disguise them somewhat. I spent many frustrating minutes last night taking out and redoing seams! I just get very perfectionist when it comes to my work. Now my housekeeping is another story!!!
Basically I have a good eye for when something is out of line but I use a ruler and double check when I think something is not right. Then I problem solve to fix the problem. Sometimes there is no fix and you just have to live with it.
One block had a square in the middle that wanted to bow out so I sprayed it with sizing and made it lay down flat!!

This block is a good seller for me at Kalona ( the town where I sell my stuff to a gift shop). It is one of my favorites but after making these 6 I think it will be awhile before I work on this one again!! Time to move on to something else!!

Thanks Jim's Gem! To me they are old hat. I almost didn't post them. They don't seem as dramatic to me as some of you people's quilts.
But I have been saying I was working on orders so I thought I would show what I have been working on.
