The quilt from hell is done!

So some of you may remember that I was talking about this challenging quilt last night...well I finally finished the beast. I'm NEVER repeat NEVER working with fleece as a backing again! It's stretchy, and HEAVY!!!
This is the best picture I could get as it's about 200 lbs and I can't spread it on the floor...

I'm sorry, I didn't see your post where you were using fleece or I would have warned you. We have my Mama's quilt she has pieced on a frame, and she used fleece as the batting. She wanted "warm". Well , the quilt is so thick and stretchy that it can only be quilted by poking the needle one stitch at a time. Forget running stitch, it won't happen. And the material has stretched so much that all we do is moan about all the wrinkles. We have been working on it a year and a half, it is definitely my version of the quilt from hell. I will NOT do that again!

oh sweetie  I bet that was so frustrating! I just finished one like that myself and by the time I go the binding on I never wanted to see it again! it does look great though, you did a fantastic job. I was thinking of using the polar fleece also, is that what you used that caused the problems?

Thanks everyone. It must weigh like 100lbs or something. It's a heavy peice...
But these colors are actually chosen by my sister (who the quilt is for) and I designed the layout.
So now I'm on to my next project...and glad that this is DONE!!!
