I love your quilt! That's why we wash first. It happens.

Great quilt! I am saving 1.5 " strips to make a scrappy one.

LOL, I don't pre-wash anymore, I have arthritis and my hands just can't take all that ironing, I'm old it takes so much time washing and ironing all that material, I just want to sew. So you have to make it bigger??? Your quilt turned out beautiful, Love log cabin quilts.

Sounds like it has been an adventure getting this quilt put together. It's a beauty though, thank you for sharing.

I had the same problem once...13" shrinkage on the backing fabric and they cut it so crooked, I lost another 8" on each side!!! Had to buy more to piece it. Thinking I'll just stick with piecing the back with normal wof from now on.

How did you ever quilt that fantastic quilt? It's so big, I don't think I could get it in my sewing machine.

I don't launder anymore, did when dyes flowed out from fabrics back in the day. Now into a bucket or pan of water with color stabilizer or just make the quilt and square it up and have it quilted and let it pucker up when washed. I don't dry quilts in the dryer but draped over lines. When dry I "fluff" in the dryer.

Love your quilt and the colors are bold enough to please anyone but in particular a man. Wonderful. I notice you didn't start with the same color in each block which is unusual, your own twist?

    Thank you.

Well I think it's very pretty for what it all went through. You did well.
