Default Scrappy "Hugs and Inspiration"

I recently found out that a young man I used to work with has stage 3 colon cancer. Since we now live several hundred miles apart , after I stopped crying I did what I do best-- quilt! I used Jenny's method for making scrappy 4 patches. I did fmq in the 4 patch blocks and borders. In each of the snowball blocks I put words, such as prayer, believe, courage, Jeremiah 29:11, hugs, etc.

The label says "Please use this quilt when cold or feeling blue. Because it's a hug from me to you."

I was his "work mom" and now pray for him every day. He is the same age as my daughter. The quilt ended up being 70 inches square.

So sorry to hear this about your former co-worker. Cancer is a terrible thing. My DBIL was given 6-9 months after finding out his colon cancer spread to his lungs. He has been doing two chemo treatments every two weeks, besides his crones treatments every two months. I will pray for your friend as I am praying for my DBIL! He will appreciate this quilt you gave made for him, God bless!
We used to live in Eustis, we were practically neighbors, lol.

Beautiful! The quilt will be a blessing to him I'm sure. There is so little we can do for one who is suffering as he is, but something made from a loving friend is special. So good of you to do this for him.
