This thread just keeps getting better. Lovely to see all the work.
You're the first Biscuit quilt I've seen since I started quilting in 2007! Please show me some of your work. I'm not alone yeah yeah.
Oh so many more have been posted, that I missed.
LOVE THEM!
Great work EVERYONE
I'm so impressed with all these beautiful quilts!!! You are all so inspirational! I'm just a bit confused after looking at so many of them, and seeing quite a bit of yardage of one single fabric...I thought a "scrap" quilt was a mixture of "leftover scraps" of fabric sewn together, rather than a "scrappy" pattern? Or is it up to the quilter what is a "scrap quilt"?
I think it's up to the quilter, but that's what I thought to. I asked my aunt who quilts a lot and she said that with her scrap quilts, she likes to have 1 fabric that ties it all together, usually a solid like white, cream or black. then the pattern is all scraps from her drawers.Originally Posted by tms
I agree with the "leftover scraps"...but I guess some of the patterns require some extra yardage of new material.......Originally Posted by tms
I think the term 'scrappy' has become more liberal in it's use these days but traditionally it would have meant exactly that. Quilts made from scraps only. I like scrap quilts for the use of many colours and patterns but do like some order to them. In general I have only fat quarters and left overs that I work from but will use some kind of colour sequence or linking fabric to tie it all together. That is the great thing about quilting today - it is so diverse that everybody can find an aspect that apeals to them!Originally Posted by tms
What a wonderful show this turned out to be!
You people are amazing!
Unbelievable!
Scrappies are not my favorites, yet many of the quilts displayed here have really opened my eyes (and my mind!)
I'm definitely bookmarking this one!
I love yours---true scappys.Originally Posted by jdavis
