I think the term 'scrappy' has become more liberal in it's use these days but traditionally it would have meant exactly that. Quilts made from scraps only. I like scrap quilts for the use of many colours and patterns but do like some order to them. In general I have only fat quarters and left overs that I work from but will use some kind of colour sequence or linking fabric to tie it all together. That is the great thing about quilting today - it is so diverse that everybody can find an aspect that apeals to them!
