Well, I just finished a Bonnie Hunter Spider Web quilt. I too, thought I would use up my strings. Well - no! I got so sick of using strings. My string box never got smaller. I finally put everything in a computer paper box and gave them to my friend.

That's sounds like a good plan...
I group the strips into color sets ... reds, blues, etc. I pull one strip from each set as I sew ... just keep going down the line. I chain stitch so I'm not sewing just one block at a time. It's interesting to see how the fabrics line up! If I get two strips that are just too close in color, I'll change one of them out. Other than that, it's just pull and sew.

Keep up the good work on your scrap pile. That is also my summer project to use up scraps. When I left home 11 days ago for a holiday with the DH I was at 6 good sized quilts and was down to a king size batting bag stuffed with smaller pieces to do a QAYG log cabin. I have another Hefty trash bag with strips I am sick to death of that I will give to my scrappy sisters at a guild meeting.
