    Hi Kim,
    Well Minky is very stretchy so I would never think about peicing it...so if I am using minky I always make sure it is a few inches bigger than my quilt to. I do my quilting on a long arm....and sometimes that minky doesn't want to let me stretch it enough...you just have to keep rolling it tight....and it is fine. not hard if it is on a frame...I can't imagine using it without one...to slippery and heavy once you sandwich everything. ...but love the feel of it on my quilts!

    Oh my gosh this is a great quilt for your family room. And using the minky fabric is a wonderful idea for the backing. Sooo soft! Love it!
