How perfect to have made all the piecing from silk fabrics. It is truly beautiful and your embroidery and lace embellishments are incredible. Wool batting would function well with the silk. And, the muslin backing would make it very traditional for sure. Silk is quite fragile and prone to slippage when stressed so be careful to use it for decorative use only. I know this because I wrote my thesis in graduate school on silk.

Beautiful quilt and looks like a lot of hand sewing. You did a fantastic job.

A couple people have commented on the fragility of silk - I have seen it once it starts to go and it can be distressing.
It is on a bed in the guest room and I expect will be for looks more than use.
I have had some thoughts on my seams and and concerned that this not fall apart. The muslin the silk is stitched to and the embroidery are sure to help somewhat.
What will be will be! Maybe some day I'll put it in a bag and store it. For now, I'm just going to enjoy.
