This quilt is probably one of the best I've seen in a long time!! I love the colors and the stars!! Thank you so much for sharing this. Did you use a pattern or just come up with it on your own? I have some civil war fabrics that are just screaming for me to make this quilt!!!!!

I didn't use a pattern, just made it up from seeing a photo of one. I used a 4-1/2" center square and 2-1/2" squares and hst's around the star. The patchwork was done with 2-1/2" squares also. Bonnie Hunter has a different method of making the stars on her website. She calls it Smoky Mountain stars. You might like that pattern also: http://quiltville.com/smokeymtstars.shtml
