I just finished making four knitted ducklings for our great grandkids Easter baskets. I put some rattles in their tummies (two water battle tops with a couple buttons that were wrapped up tight with masking tape) I like to make the tittle soft toys with rattles inside and the babies like to shake them. I found the free pattern on the internet http:/kat-knits.blogspot.com/2007/03/some-easter-peeps.html
They were really easy to make and didn't take very much yarn.

Those are just adorable. I'm sure your Grandkids will love them. What a great idea for the rattle also. Thanks for sharing.
