What a beautiful quilt your mother did. That is a treasure! Sorry for loss, but your mother would be proud that you finished for her.

It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL !! What a wonderful gift, what a wonderful way to wrap up in grandma's love....... a keepsake for the ages.

My own mother passed while my children were young. I saved baby quilts she made to give to their children when the time comes. It makes me smile to know they will have a piece of their great grandma's love even though she never got to see them face to face.

Awesome job in finishing your mom's work.

Each one of the stars is actually a square block. You sew a piece of the white to each of the triangles you cut from the focal fabric. This makes a larger triangle of each piece. Then you sew two triangles together to make a square, then sew the four squares together to make the final block. Then the blocks are sewn together on point with setting side and corner triangles to complete the top.
I am posting several pictures of squares I have been working on for a child's twin size quilt. I think it should show what I am talking about.
Thanks Sadiemae, That helps alot and I also watched the U-Tube video which gave me a clear pic of what you've been saying. I let you know how my first try turns out.

Wow what a great quilt. Love the colors and also the pattern, will have to look into the Stack and Wack technique.
