I have just finished piecing this (by machine), but I like to hand quilt. I just can't seem to think of how to quilt it! My mind has just stopped. I'm going to my sister's next week, and I need an idea before I leave in case I need to make a stencil to follow or something. I really didn't want to stitch in the ditch....

Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

How about Baptist Fan? The curve of the fans might really complement the geometric piecing.

Baptist fan? Is that on Quilter's Cache, maybe? I'll go look and see if I can find it. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Here is what the Baptist Fan looks like. It would look great on this quilt.

Maybe a wave pattern that follows the colour spread in your piecing? Down on the green, up on the light blue, etc and echoed downwards.

An easy way to do the baptist fan quilting is to determine how far apart you want your lines of stitching first. Then cut a piece of cardboard or poster board an inch or two wide and a little longer than the furthest point of each completed fan. Punch small holes down the middle of the cardboard at your chosen distance and the "Start" hole. Put the start hole at the corner (stabilize that mark with a pencil or the point of a compass) and your marking tool at each of the other holes in turn. Swing it from the start point to draw your stitching lines. Have fun! I think curves are great for this project.

I had thought about doing what I call clam shells... Not sure if I have the right name, but they overlap like the Baptist fan did above... 1/2 circles staggered.

I clicked on your photo and did a Save as, saved it to my desktop. I then opened Paint, drew over the top and saved again. I just learned how to do this. Is that not cool!
