An easy way to do the baptist fan quilting is to determine how far apart you want your lines of stitching first. Then cut a piece of cardboard or poster board an inch or two wide and a little longer than the furthest point of each completed fan. Punch small holes down the middle of the cardboard at your chosen distance and the "Start" hole. Put the start hole at the corner (stabilize that mark with a pencil or the point of a compass) and your marking tool at each of the other holes in turn. Swing it from the start point to draw your stitching lines. Have fun! I think curves are great for this project.
