I'm trying to come up with a block I can applique one block at a time for portability. What do y'all think? I know right now it looks like a fried egg but it's just a rough draft.

Fried egg?!! LOL - I think it's a great looking block.

What about hearts? with the heart blocks alternating with a red/white 9 patch pattern?

I think both blocks are cute--but I am partial to the heart alternating with a nine patch of pink and red (or pink and white or red and white.)

I agree - the first one does kind of look like a fried egg with garnish - but I really love the idea of doing applique in sections like that.
