She already has her quilt and is thrilled. I don't expect that it will survive her college years, but I stressed that she use and enjoy it. It wasn't meant to be simply decorative. I told her that she could wash it and it was made to be used. (another reason for a simple pattern....I put it together in an afternoon) I knew for her to want to use it, it had to be different and unique...she's a kid that zigs when everyone else is zagging....Sunbonnet Sue wouldn't work for her.

What a great use of tye dye fabric. I will be "borrowing" this idea. Thanks for the post , it will get me moving on some of those pieces that were dyeing experiments.

Beatiful hand dyes, and you're right - the black really makes the blocks POP. Nice.
