I have been wanting a stiletto and wooden iron so I decided to make some in my hobby shop. This is what I came up with. I used the pointed end of a knitting needle for the seiletto side and made the handle/wooden iron with my lathe and a scrap piece of oak.

I like to use the wooden iron when I am doing paper piecing and opening seams on quilt blocks.

Very clever, Barb! It's funny because I was wishing I had a little stiletto just last weekend while working on a lap quilt. Genius!

Hey great thinking making your own tool. I like that it has a nice fat handle to work with. Just making it a two for one is so smart of you.
