What a treat your little story was to read! -- "When I got the poor little orphans they needed some pressing, squaring up and then hanging out with my UFOs while they recovered from their trauma." And 'Double Down'! What a perfect name! Will anyone love this quilt more than you? :-)

Thank you everyone for such kind words. I do love taking someone's unlovables and making them into something admirable and usable!
I have to confess, it's very satisfying to the thrifty gnome inside me when I can do it so successfully. I can't thank my fabric angels enough for helping me have these opportunities.
If the donor of these blocks wants to step up and say hey, that would be great! If not, I do hope you approve of what I've done with your gift and the life I've given it. Hugs and thank you again!
