Was too nervous to work on Steven's quilt the last two weekends. I'll be working on his with help this weekend to finish quilting the borders and then it's binding binding binding. He arrived back in USA safely from Iraq this weekend. He'll be here on leave in 3 weeks. We are so happy his deployment is over, until the next one.

Here is what I worked on the last 2 weekends. Repeating Gramma's Sampler for a girl at work. I absolutely hate the fabrics, but I got as close as I could to the original colors. No blooming pansies this time, blooming tulips.

Very nice job on the quilt blocks even tho they're not your favorite colors. They'll look great in your sampler quilt. Glad your son is coming home--thank you, Steven for all you've done and bless you!!

I hope to get some pictures from son Steven's quilt posted here. It's a patriotic stairway to heaven with army fabric on the back. I think it turned out really wonderful. I'll post pics of it as soon as I can.

When Steven comes home in 3 weeks, I'll show him the thread for his quilt. I don't think he realizes that there are still people out there who appreciate military folk.

So glad he'll be home soon--I know how relieved you must be! Your sampler is gorgeous! I think it's good for us to work on things that aren't necessarily "our" colors--helps you to see things in a whole new way sometimes!

Wonderful work there. I'm sure you are quite relieved to have your son home. I can only imagine how hard it is to see them go.
