All your gifts are very nice.
For Bro in law,maybe rice bags you heat in the microwave or freeze,for aches & pains? Very inexpensive & they are used over & over. Have had mine for well over 12 yrs. Just an idea.

I like the apron idea. You could make hotpads or mits to go with it. Those rice bags are nice too. How about a pillow?

My stepdaughter gave me that exact bowling fabric for Christmas about two years ago. I haven't used it yet and seeing how good it looks in your project you may have just led me in the right direction.
