I love the heart border - beautiful quilt. Just tell her she did a great job on the beautiful quilt, what's the harm. Despite the challenges, I think you are fortunate to still have her in your life. I lost my Mom when I was 23 and my Dad 2 years later so I wish they were still here.

They are called "Touch Quilts".

A few years ago, we made six or eight of these and gave them to Nursing Homes for the Alzheimer's patients. They were squares or other shapes of fabrics of many different textures. We had satin, corduroy, demin, lace, fur (lots of different furs), net - - - we put in every different texture we could find. They were small, only about 20X30 inches.

These are also used for blind babies to learn how to crawl. They love feeling the different blocks and will try to find one they like, so they have to crawl to find it.

Thanks everybody! The quilt was in "Quiltmaker" magazine (Jan/Feb 2012). It is called "Hearts Afloat" and reallly was not terribly hard to do. The border was the hardest part but when I learned to snip the corners it was a no brainer!
